Training

So this morning Zack picked me up and we headed out to Kensington to train with the juniors and the South Lyon team. This was a much better idea a few days ago when I agreed to come along...
The weather was hot and the hills were steep and long. I hate climbs that are more than 3 meters high, so naturally I hated these climbs. I ended up doing about 9 laps taking the last one off because my knee was bothering me, and by bothering me I mean it felt as if a knife was stabbing me below my kneecap every time I would turn the crank over. This is pretty normal when I climb which is the biggest reason I hate climbs. Other than my knee I felt a lot better since I'm getting over being very sick and barely being able to breathe when I get on the bike. I only couldn't breathe on the first climb of my last lap when everybody but Joe and myself attacked. I've felt a lot stronger when I ride so that is good, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow because I'm not riding or working or going to a race or doing anything other than sleeping and seeing some friends. I apologize for the horrid grammar and the non detail of the training but it is 2.30 in the morning and I am getting tired just thinking about the ride. One good thing about today is that I got some awesome socks from Joe.

Hines Park TT

So I haven't updated my blog in a long time, then again there hasn't been much to talk about lately. That is until this morning when I placed Third in the Cat 5 Individual Time Trial! I put in a 35:27 20k, which is slow but for my first time trial I'm ok with it. The first 10k or so were pretty nice, I was pushing myself hard but I didn't feel like the last 10k was going to be a problem; I was very wrong in that assumption. I made the turn which was at the bottom of a hill, then as I made it around it was like hitting a brick wall, massive headwind with the rest of the course mostly uphill. The last 10k was just a survival game trying to keep my cadence up without passing out before the end. I saved enough so that the last 2k I was sprinting for almost the entire time, but by the time I crossed the line I almost threw up. I got passed by 2 guys but I passed 4 during the ride so i'm pleased with how I did. Next time I do an ITT I'm using aero bars and hopefully be able to shave off a few minutes off my time. I'm just happy that I didn't stop working and that I didn't quit though that's all I wanted to do after I hit that headwind. There might be some pictures but that's not a promise.

Suck

So I went riding today with zack and it really sucked, for some reason my back and neck and in general by body was sore and full of pain. so the ride was tough but I made it without dying thankfully, i'll probably ride again tomorrow and I hope it will be a batter one.

New Blog

So I've decided that I should start a cycling blog since I'm getting a little tired of always just posting how my latest ride went on Facebook statuses. I figure you can check this if you want to read about how I failed at riding or you can choose to not read. Just a warning this will be a cycling and cycling related blog only, no girlfriend drama here. I leave that stuff on facebook where it can be spread more quickly. So I went on a ride yesterday on the Falling Water Trails that runs just outside of jackson. I used Zacks giant frame with the aero bars on and it was a pleasant ride. I made it roughly 17 miles in about an hour so I wan't working too hard but it felt nice to get out there after failing miserably at crit practice. I'm sure I'll be back on here in the next couple of days.
